About me

Iā€™m Lucy, a Product Designer based in Madrid.

I spent the first 8 years of my career working in client management roles in banking, whilst working on product development initiatives I uncovered my interest in UX design. Continuous interaction with the website users and recognition of their needs and pain points showed me the importance of a truly user-centred approach. Working closely with the designers and developers gave me an insight into the world of user experience design and motivated me to make the change myself!

I started my journey by completing a HTML and CSS course to gain an appreciation of how websites are built from scratch. I established an understanding of the theories behind UX design through various video courses, books, meet ups and online resources. I then set about learning UI techniques and how to use the tools which would bring my designs to life!

As both an analytical and visual person the hybrid role of a Product Designer feels like the perfect fit for me. Throughout my work I am continuously looking for ways to better the experience for the user, both functionally and aesthetically, whilst ensuring I have a strong understanding of the underlying business goals and priorities.

I enjoy working on projects across varying sectors, with a keen interest in food, health & wellness, travel and finance related businesses. I have a particularly strong understanding of businesses within the financial sector given my background working in the industry for over 6 years.
